Our firm is pleased to announce that we have successfully resolved a lawsuit against the U.S. embassy in Beirut, Lebanon for the unreasonable delay in visa issuance to a Syrian young man who was separated from his parents and siblings for eight years.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, asked the court to force the embassy to issue a decision on the pending visa application, which had been stuck in “administrative processing” for nearly three years. After working extensively with the U.S. Attorney’s office, the visa was issued within three months and the family was overjoyed when they were finally reunited.
In an email to Nimer Law, the young man – who last saw his parents when he was only 14 years old, – expressed his gratitude for our hard work on his case, saying “thank you so much for making me part of my family again!”
