Meet the Team
Jennifer Nimer, Esq. – Managing Attorney/Owner
Our founder and lead attorney, Jennifer Nimer, is known for her experience with immigration delay lawsuits – also known as Writs of Mandamus. She has filed nearly 400 federal lawsuits – not only against USCIS but also against U.S. embassies and consulates abroad. Attorney Nimer believes that many applicants are unfairly labeled “security concerns” or are put in extended administrative processing without justification. Through her immigration delay litigation, she has reunited dozens of families – including children who were stuck abroad away from their parents, families affected by the travel ban and individuals applying for various types of non-immigrant visas.
Attorney Nimer successfully resolved over 21 lawsuits for nationals of Iran, Syria and Yemen who were subject to the PP9645 travel ban and experienced unreasonable delay in issuance of a waiver. Attorney Nimer also regularly files lawsuits on behalf of individuals who have been stuck in administrative processing for F, J or H visas as well as for all types of USCIS delays.
Prior to opening her own firm, Attorney Nimer worked for the Columbus Chapter CAIR-Ohio, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, from 2004 – 2018. She received her bachelor’s degree from Capital University in 2000, where she majored in Criminology and minored in Psychology. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Capital University Law School in 2003 with a concentration in Family Law.
Attorney Nimer is admitted to practice law in Ohio, and is also admitted to federal courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, Eastern District of Michigan, Southern District of Indiana, and the District of Columbia as well as the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 2011.
